bc029c2f45 libflashrom: Add API to get the list of supported programmers
There were no options available to obtain the list of programmers.
The implementation is based on flashrom_supported_flash_chips.
Arrays of constant strings are returned, and the array must be
freed using flashrom_data_free.

Testing: Both unit tests and CLI tools serve as libflashrom clients.
    All unit tests run successfully.

f163f1c692 libflashrom: Set maximum log level SPEW by default
This log level is the maximum level that will trigger the log
callback. By default log callback should be triggered for all
messages, and then client can decide whether they want to lower
the level.

This also keeps the same behaviour for existing clients of
libflashrom, the same as it was before introducing the ability
to set max log level in log callback API.

6571f263b5 libflashrom: Add set log level functionality
Before this commit, any message from Flashrom would trigger
the user's callback. This could lead to additional delays
and slow down overall Flashrom performance.

This patch adds the ability to configure the log level for
messages from Flashrom. It sets the default log level to INFO

Testing: Both unit tests and CLI tools serve as libflashrom clients.
    All unit tests run successfully.

b1794138f0 libflashrom: Update the API for Logger Callback
The initial implementation does not account for user_data, requiring
the calling application to use a global scope. This may lead to issues
related to object lifecycle management and other architectural
concerns.

This patch adds user_data to the user’s log callback. Moreover, it
performs message formatting, so the application only needs to pass
the formatted string to the selected output.

The change does not break the existing logging API but extends it.
A new API version is introduced with the v2 suffix.

Testing: Both unit tests and CLI tools serve as libflashrom clients.
    All unit tests run successfully.

e2df58a379 libflashrom: Update the API for progress callback
The initial version of API for progress callback would require the
callback function to make a second call to get the needed data about
progress state (current, total etc).

This patch changes the callback API, so that callback function gets
all needed data straight away as parameters, and with this,
callback has all the data to do its job.

Since the initial version was submitted and it was in the tree for a
while, the change needs to add a _v2 suffix for new thing and
deprecated attribute for old thing.

Testing: both unit tests and cli are libflashrom clients.
All unit tests run successfully, for the cli all scenarios from
commit 75dc0655b95dde91f1426a7e5aecfc04d7b8d631 run successfully.

75dc0655b9 Complete and fix progress feature implementation for all operations
Original progress reporting implemented in CB:49643 and it has some
issues, for example:

    size_t start_address = start;
    size_t end_address = len - start;

End address is anything but length minus start address.

    update_progress(flash,
                    FLASHROM_PROGRESS_READ,
                    /*current*/ start - start_address + to_read,
                    /*total*/ end_address);

Total should just be length if that's how current value is computed.

---

libflashrom needs to know total size ahead of time.
That's init_progress() and changed update_progress().

It also needs to store the last current value to be able to update it.
That's stage_progress in flashrom_flashctx.

Measuring accurately amount of data which will be read/erased/written
isn't easy because things can be skipped as optimizations. The next
patch in the chain aims to address this, there are TODO/FIXME
comments there.

---

CLI shares terminal with the rest of the code and has to maintain more
state to handle that reasonably well.

Similar to CB:64668, an effort is made to keep the progress on a
single line. Non-progress output is kept track of to know when
moving to a new line cannot be avoided.

---

A script to test the CLI:

\#!/bin/bash
t=${1:-rewW}
shift

if [[ $t =~ r ]]; then
    echo ">>> READ"
    ./flashrom -p dummy:emulate=W25Q128FV,freq=64mhz -r dump.rom --progress "$@"
    echo
fi

if [[ $t =~ e ]]; then
    echo ">>> ERASE"
    ./flashrom -p dummy:emulate=W25Q128FV,freq=64mhz -E --progress "$@"
    echo

if [[ $t =~ w ]]; then
    echo ">>> WRITE (without erase)"

183208b5cb udelay: only use OS time for delays, except on DOS
As proposed on the mailing list ("RFC: remove the calibrated delay
loop" [1]), this removes the calibrated delay loop and uses OS-based
timing functions for all delays because the calibrated delay loop can
delay for shorter times than intended.

When sleeping this now uses nanosleep() unconditionally, since usleep
was only used on DOS (where DJGPP lacks nanosleep). When busy-looping,
it uses clock_gettime() with CLOCK_MONOTONIC or CLOCK_REALTIME depending
on availability, and gettimeofday() otherwise.

The calibrated delay loop is retained for DOS only, because timer
resolution on DJGPP is only about 50 milliseconds. Since typical delays
in flashrom are around 10 microseconds, using OS timing there would
regress performance by around 500x. The old implementation is reused
with some branches removed based on the knowledge that timer resolution
will not be better than about 50 milliseconds.

Tested by reading and writing flash on several Intel and AMD systems:

 * Lenovo P920 (Intel C620, read/verify only)
 * "nissa" chromebook (Intel Alder Lake-N)
 * "zork" chromebook (AMD Zen+)

dcd8ad0dcb fmap: ignore areas with zero size
It's impossible for flashrom_layout to represent zero-sized flash
regions but it is possible for a fmap to contain a zero-sized region
which causes the resulting layout to fail layout_sanity_checks(),
preventing use of that fmap.

Because it would very rarely make sense to be able to operate on
zero-sized regions anyway and changing layouts to be able to support
zero-size regions would entail large changes, instead ignore zero-size
regions when present in fmap.

TEST=Warning is now printed when using fmap that contains a zero-sized
     area, and operations on other regions are allowed to proceed.

1866deb06d libflashrom: Move documentation to header
The doxygen documentation was in the libflashrom.c file. Move the
documentation to the libflashrom.h file. This allows foreign function
interface binding generators (eg rust bindgen) that operate on the .h
file to generate documentation for the target language. Some doxygen
errors were also corrected, mostly undocumented or wrongly labeled
parameters.

To test, I have diffed and inspected the doxygen documentation before
and after the change. All functions are documented the same, and the
structs and enums are now also included in the docs.

9b20174fda libflashrom,linux_mtd: add linux_mtd writeprotect support
This commit adds a generic framework to allow opaque programmers to
implement writeprotect operations and uses the framework to support
writeprotect operations on linux MTD device files.

The generic framework comprises three new functions in
`struct opaque_master` that are called from libflashrom:

- wp_get_ranges()

For linux_mtd, only the read/write functions are implemented. Linux's
MTD interface doesn't provide a way to get available ranges, so calling
get_wp_ranges() on the linux_mtd master will return
FLASHROM_WP_ERR_RANGE_LIST_UNAVAILABLE.

016b5abc83 libflashrom/fmap: Don't use off_t for flash offsets
off_t is a special POSIX type that is used to represent file offsets in
certain APIs (e.g. lseek(), mmap()), and should not be reused to
represent anything else (such as flash offsets). In particular, the
width of the type may change based on the definition of the
_FILE_OFFSET_BITS macro. Using such a type at the libflashrom interface
is particularly dangerous, because if a program is built with a
different _FILE_OFFSET_BITS value than libflashrom, the resulting ABI
corruption will cause very very nasty and confusing bugs. This patch

release the `default_layout` in a flashctx once we are done with it.

c82900b661 Add support to get layout from fmap (e.g. coreboot rom)
Flashmap, or simply fmap, is a binary data format for describing
region offsets, sizes, and certain attributes and is widely used by
coreboot. This patch adds support for the fmap data format version 1.1
and adds --fmap and --fmap-file arguments.

Using --fmap will make flashrom to search the ROM content for fmap
data. Using --fmap-file will make flashrom search a supplied file
for fmap data.

An example of how to update the COREBOOT region of a ROM:
flashrom -p programmer --fmap -w coreboot.rom -i COREBOOT
flashrom -p programmer --fmap-file coreboot.rom -w coreboot.rom -i COREBOOT

The fmap functions are mostly copied from cbfstool.

Currently it is made mutually exclusive with other layout options until
we are more clever about this input.
